Your meter will not work well for testing a motor load at startup I don't think. The description says it will measure only up to 10 amps AC/DC with the leads in SERIES. So you have to disconnect the wires and pass the load through the meter. I am fairly certain the inrush current will make the meter fault out.
Plus you are pulling way more than 10 amps anyway.

I should be a very handy meter for general purposes though.
