You can use just a relay type starter vs a magnetic starter for starting fan/auger motors. Relay is just a few bucks. If power "blips", the relay starter will drop off line & not automatically restart fan.

A magnetic starter also has load absorption capabilities that a relay doesn't give. Just make sure you are starting out with a circuit breaker at the power source if you use a relay.
