Do a two way slide with a weight stop, bout the best for both parties involved.....GET IN WRITING EVERY TIME!!!...
this- I buy some cattle and private we put a weight stop on the top end-usually 25# stop with a 10cent slide on top side-so if your animal weighs 600# but comes in at 650 and I paid on 625 and the extra 25# would be free
you can change the weight stops as the owner-also do a two way slide as Cowboss said-
your 8cent slide is not very much-but the buyer agreed or would have not bought them
Best of luck-more upfront I guess -I would be upset if cattle came in 100# different on weight-and as a seller I would be upset if someone wanted money back on a handshake deal
We loaded by Custer's last stand last fall-the calves came in 60# lite on a 5weight steer-the slide was there to help both party's on lite or heavy-
You have really good yearlings if the weight was 100# over base weight-I would be interested in your calves this late fall-if you need to sell them- |
