wc mn | 1 thing to think about is with the steer stuffer you are pretty limited to feeding just Holstein steers. With tmr and bunk you can feed anything from Holstein steers to beef steers and heifers along with calves up to yearlings and even cows or maybe even sheep. Lots of times we have access to free or nearly free wet cake, kinda tuff to feed in a stuffer.
I put up earlage and love it. No propane to buy and corn harvest is completed before beans are ready and stalks are all baled up by time beans are finished. You will need to supplement corn twords the end of finishing period with the earlage to get the ration hot enough. Also you can get by with less hay due to cob and husk being in there.
If you think you might get out of cattle in the near future then stuffers are the winner. Otherwise tmr and bunk gives you lots of flexibility on animals and feed stuff to use. | |
