| I like what pigfarmer said... if you have a good reputation and a good work ethic, you will always have someone willing to offer you a job if things fall through.
Farming is terrible... break even for 7 years then make a pile, very inconsistent. I recommend the side job, nearly every young farmer has one.
sell seed
trim trees
buy tile plow
custom spraying
build a hog barn
cut cedar trees
substitute teach at school
buy a tuck and side dump or grain trailer
custom silage cutting
buy a hay truck and haul hay custom
Crop adjusting..... this can be a pretty good deal. half the adjusters I work with farm on the side. flexible hours. But when its busy, it busy....
Go to church, talk to God..... it will work out.
