Good stories there Dax. Just a little before my time but my parents definitely told me similar stories. Growing up we didn't have much but I'd say for the most part we were happy. Neighbors all got along. Had to to survive.
I would say growing on the poor side of things makes one hungry to do better and work hard to improve ones life.
