Yes I just started farming 14 years ago myself from scratch so I am first generation while Hicks advise is sound for an established farm. Not every farm is to that point 2 of my 3 sons are involved in the farm. My point is every situation. Is different and for someone to just paint with a broad brush of how things should be done is arrogant or ignorant
Being the fact all 4 of us farm the $250,000 payment limit isn’t a big deal. If it was just my dad owning all the cattle and land we would be capped out.
If you want to be a one and done make the kids employees. |
