E ND | Averaging 6 miles a day with a preexisting known knee issue sounds like a bad idea with no short term goal (race) in mind you're trying to get to. I think anyone would advise rest days and reduction in type and duration of training to change that course before it totally stops your training. Gimpy knee turns into foot/hip/back issues so fast with high miles due to the limp/compensating your body does naturally. I'd be careful pushing miles without resting.
I assume you're replacing shoes pretty often at 180 miles per month? I'm heavy (250) and I can tell when running shoes wear out and the knee is the first place it shows up for me personally. | |
