Eastern Shore of MD
We are still probably 30 days away from planting on this field so that is why I was concerned about how much more growth we will get in the next month. Just read a crop report from U of DE which had us at about 970 base 32 gdu's since Jan. 1st vs only 640 at this time last yr.

The pics were from the half of the field that was aerial seeded into corn late Aug 2019. It is irrigated so we had enough soil moisture to get things going.... dryland fields aerial seeding was mostly a failure due to no rain last Sept.

Other half of field was drilled with the same species right after harvest in mid Sept. The field is a part of an experiment by U of MD to determine nutrient sequestration by cover crop plant date, method, etc. Trying to determine best way to plant cover crops here.
