Montana | Believe it or not this has happened to me twice in my life while irrigating with wheelines. First time I was just a kid hanging on the flusher end waiting for dad to send water. 2nd time I was 21ish adding a couple wheels on the end. Both times the lightning hit the canal 1500 ft from where I was at. Different locations same distance both times. Not sure if it went through the water, or if there is just that much electricity in the area for aluminum to attract some of it. Either way I don't move pipe if I see lightning on the way anymore. | |
