Brother had similar experience 25 years ago at MO state fair grounds. Was there for a sheep sale and we had a homemade steel sheep rack with a metal roof in bed of pickup in the parking lot. Lot was full of trailers. We set up lawn chairs in the bed and would read. A storm popped up with lots of lighting, I was in the truck bed and my brother was holding the metal gate on the back and getting ready to step up on the tailgate. Big bolt of lightning hit south of the fairgrounds and my brother screamed like I have never heard before. I didn’t feel anything but he said he got shocked like he had never felt. Figured it carried across the parking lot and was spread over all the trailers and he was conduit for the metal crate/truck to ground out. He was real quite the rest of the day. | |
