Fulton County Ohio | I run one planter in corn and one in beans. Seldom have run 24 hours. Save that capacity for when the weather does not cooperate. Hard to find operators for an all night shift, or I don't want to look. Too many things can go wrong to trust a driver vs an operator. I agree with all the other reasons to avoid the extra help and risk of a round the clock operation. Moving at night is acceptable, but it takes extra help. I would rather find people to keep the planters supplied and running over meal time during daylight hours. Skipping meals gets old in a hurry. A good breakfast and a late lunch with little or no supper works good. Missing a mid-day meal on top of that wears on people. | |
