Are you no-till? For us it seems planting all night is a great idea until the moisture comes up and makes the residue wet enough that it hairpins and your planting quality suffers.
Then you have a guy trying to stay on that night shift but really is only barely on the night shift and he goes to sleep because he's exhausted with nothing to do. If the next night is dry enough but he can't stay up and run because he fell asleep too early and woke up too early.
That's how it works when we're lucky. When we're not lucky the guy running the late shift is too tired to get out and check for hairpinning and quality suffers as he keeps planting right through the night.
