In our operation we stopped rolling soybeans because it created soil erosion issues the following spring. We strip till or no till everything and try to stay rotated C-B-C-B. When you pin the prior years corn residue to the ground all of it is gone before fall. The following spring the bean residue alone is not enough to keep the soil from eroding. Having some corn stalk remaining the following spring does a lot to keep everything in place.
