No matter how you do this any more than 5 to 8 cows requires that most of the forage needs to be brought in.

Table 1. Average stocking rate for stockers during
the grazing season
Tall, cool-season grasses
(Brome, orchard grass, etc.)
.7 acres/stocker
Tall fescue pasture .85 acres/stocker
Improved legume/grass pasture .66 acres/stocker
