Alright seriously, could you PLEASE enlighten all of us on how any part of this is the American Dream? I mean I guess if his dream was to grow to the point where he made the cover of Top Producer magazine and then crash like a Mazda dropped off the Sears Tower then mission accomplished. I don't hate anyone, especially not this Stamp fellow, in fact I really couldn't care less about him personally, I'll go so far as to wish him a long healthy life. His business and what happens to it is of interest to me as it should be of interest to anyone who runs a farm business because there will be something for all of us to learn when the dust settles. Now I'm sure that you'll have some sort of response to this that really makes no sense and probably won't end up in the right place to respond to this, but please if you could and you are going to take the time to respond, please, try to say something of substance and not just the internet equivalent of sticking your tongue out and making faces.
Joe Biden was a rude Jerk in the Presidential debates and he still got re-elected. The second Post that I found on here about Stamp was titled Beating a Dead Horse... Now there is some real dialect about what may or may not have gone wrong.
JVM_Farms states "There will be something for all of us to Learn from this" Now that's why I posted in the first place. First expose a most likely crook and fraud, second cause exposure that gets Bankser Landlords and even Farming Magazines to be more wary and not get duped.
What we have learned from this, is a Handshake and your word is not the best Policy anymore. Still I say a contract is only as good as the people behind it. A contract may just end up being a tool to make the Lawyers job easier.
A contract is a permanent record.. No more he said or she said. You can refer back to the contract and say yes or no this was or was not agreed on.
I know of rent contracts that tied the rent rate to the commodity prices.. or some sort of share cropping where the Land Lord go more in a good crop year and less in a bad crop year. Who pays for the lime ect.. For example the cost of applying lime may need to be Pro-rated over a 5 year period. |
