I can see why you would say that. But I would also very much make an argument against it. Is it independent? NO. But does it allow you to build equity, while paying a wage, while providing fertilizer for the row crop? Yes. To me I would still call it diversification. Do I think it is a perfect option. Heck No. But I am an employee for my neighbor down the road for too who I custom harvest his 400 acres for as well. Thinking of something we are already doing and something that would make sense with our current operation. Could continue to pick up more acres to row crop as well. Just not thinking we want to keep extending with more row crop acres with the commodity prices.

Sorry just not much advice given or in depth substance in your response.
