The top four processors in the US currently produce pigs for their plants as shown below:

Number of days supply of pigs to run plant at 100% capacity
1. - 168 days
2. - 43 days
3. 17 days
4. 31 days

My best guess is that packers need to run 235+ days a year to minimize overhead and capital losses.

Its processors 5 and 6 on the list that are running over 100% company owned pigs

Is there a market for pigs? YES
Are packers concerned about supply? maybe, the pigs should be available to keep all satisfied, are margins going to be satisfied? not everywhere, the pinch will come somewhere don't know where.
