You did the right thing. I had one cut out a couple times by a doctor but it always grew back. So I went to a foot doctor and he said he'd take care of it. I asked are you going cut the sides or take the whole thing. He said just the sides unless I wanted to get rid of all of it. I said take the whole thing. Little while later he said check this out and held up the nail. I have never missed it. Right big toe. It's less maintenance this way no nail to trim. Also hurts less than my other big toe with a nail if something hits it. Wish I didn't have any toenails. Gets some comment when people see it for the first time.
