NE Kansas | There's plenty of businesses that net more than 10% for their owners. Raising commodities isn't one unless the land is paid for or we happen to get lucky and have a few years of $6 corn.
It's a great way of life but there are many other business ventures that are way more profitable.
For example I know a family that cashed out their owned farm land and invested the money in commercial real estate. For them the rental return on the commercial property is way better than anything they could have got from renting out out their row crop land.
