Unfortunately most churches in my area have become social clubs.  Very little Christianity is expressed in the way their members live their lives.  If the pastor is a good man and preaches out of the Bible, they will find ways to get rid of him.  They expect that their pastor will help bring in more members (and money) but they themselves spend a good share of their time either farming or at the lake.  I feel sorry for pastors who truly feel a call to preach the Word, it is a long uphill battle.
