We had a webinar at work earlier this month about tile and cover crop roots. Several universities are looking at this issue. As of that webinar what they had found is partially or full blockages led to stagnant water in the tiles they looked at and plant roots had grown into the stagnant water areas, but it was not always cover crop roots they found either.
