| Tonight while I was on-line, I got a message "Win 10 will start to download in ____". I thought I had it stopped. So, I decided to go to ComputerTalk, read up again on comments regarding Win 10, and decide whether I wanted to upgrade. While I was reading on ComputerTalk, my computer shut down completely, rebooted, and restarted. When the screen came up, it said "win 10 is installing. Do not turn your computer off".... or something to that effect. This happened right at 11:00 pm EDT. It took about 1 hour 20 minutes or so to finish installing Win 10. So, I go to work thru the log-in process, and I come to the screen where I need to log on-line to complete the process. I have a direct line to my DSL modem; I do not have a router, and I do not use Wireless connection. So, when I went to find my connection, it was not there. I saw one unidentified network, and about 4-5 WiFi options. I could not find my DSL connection. So, I backed it out, and declined the installation. It restored all my previous points - except for my DSL connection - and I am back to Win 8.1. I will have to see if I want to try it again. If I do, I want to be sure that I know how to find my DSL connection before I start the process. |
