I'm seeing a fair amount of runoff in my 20 year mostly continuous notill as well; our ground slopes so rather than ponding it tends to runoff. In last week's 4" rain of six hour duration I'd say about an inch ran off of our wheat stubble; disappointing in an area that gets 20" annual precipitation. I may invest in a Cornell infiltrator to compare tracked and untracked areas as well as high residue versus low residue areas to try to quantify where our efforts may be best directed to stop this loss. I wonder if different clay-loam soil types may have different infiltration rates even though they fall into similar soil type categories.
