Health ins is huge. We pay as much a month in health ins a month now as it cost me to live for a month when I first started farming and was single. That's huge.
I happened across expense records from ,97 the 3rd yr I was farming, and looked how cheap it was then vs now. $35 a month cell now $180. Might spend $50 a month in pickup fuel, now 300+. Pasture rent was like $75 a pair now $300. Its crazy how much stuff has gone up when look at old records.
Agreed! You and I started about the same time. I used to live on 300 a month as a single guy for personal expenses....now , with a 4 year old son my personal expenses are about 3200.00 a month. 600.00 of that is for high deductible health insurance for 2 perfectly healthy bachelors!
