| Hopefully it is the 80's that we are coming into, not the 30's. The 80's were an economic stagnation (I was around for that one), 30's were a deflationary spiral. Right now the world is seeing, and attempting to fight, a catastrophic drop in the velocity of money (VM). A serious decline in VM is what deflationary spirals are made of and they are extremely hard to pull out of. I was not around for the 30's and hopefully this will not show me what it was like during that time. | |
