If her comfort level lies in the small town, then that's where she'll gravitate back to, but if she pursues it, then you know you're on to something.
If she's not comfortable driving in the larger town or doesn't have friends there, then she'll likely prefer her small town.
Depending on her health, at some point the issue of assisted living may be made for her out of necessity, but 70's seems young for that.
