Stratton, Ontario, Canada		Clean it out. To hell with the old man. I am continually dealing with this as well. I have made it very clear that if I am made to inherit this crap, I'll pack my bags, move on - never come back, and let the rest of the siblings throw it in the trash. His thinking is that it will all be needed when the world falls apart and we go back into a Great Depression (times 10). My answer to that way of apocalyptic thinking is that it won't affect me, as I would happily take the 'lead express' exit from that world.

Basically, there is no reasoning with hoarders. You need to stand your ground and call their bluff. If they are stupid enough to choose possessions over family, you don't need them in your life.
