Subject: RE: Iowa Pollination

Nevada, Iowa
I copied a link to some info about pollination. The source really doesn't matter but it outlines some basics that I needed to revisit. Hot (= several days mid 90's+) with low humidity and dry soil is a pollination killer. I am 45 miles north of I80 but I don't think we've had several days of mid 90's all summer let alone in a row and humidity has probably been more comparable to Vietnam than Arizona during pollen shed. I'm not saying you didn't have a pollination glitch but I just can't feel that it was our weather that caused it.
