Well clay, I would guess you have absolutely no clue about the root systems in this part of the state of Iowa. They are tremendous and the plants are truly amazing. Some, not all of the ears have some misses and tip back. Please let me know how my corn on my farm is doing from 150 miles away. I would guess you haven't peeled any ears back north of I 80. You sure know it tho.

I would agree the cool cloudy days early on hurt the development of the size of ears. I'm talking pollination ....here. Not there.
