I would agree that the fan help keep the area behind the motor clean, however there is often times a husk & silk wrapped around the injector line. It is good to clean it daily when you are doing maintenance. It seems like there is at least one day during beans you are going directly back and forth in a strong hd / tail wind, when you have a tail wind in these conditions I would check your engine compartment several times that day. I have a extinguisher & a 2.5 gal jug of water in the engine compartment. I have used the water once, there was a small pile of bean dust smoldering & I just soaked it down w/ water rather than blasting it w/ the extinguisher.
