The shaft from the engine up to the right front can pose a problem also, especially if a U-joint goes out.   We have also put out a small fire started on the exhaust manifold.  It was "licking" the plastic pipe from the air cleaner to the turbo, if it had got that started I think you would be to the point where things accellerated very rapidly in a downward spiral.  Blowing out the engine area daily is important...as long as you don't let straw start to accumlate where it gets hooked on the injector lines the area is relatively self-cleaning due to the fan blast coming out of the radiator area, but when bean stems start to accumlate on the lines it disrupts the airflow and stuff starts to build up in places you don't want it.  Any sort of oil leak in the engineroom is also a cause of concern.
