South Cental Mo (Birch Tree)
Same here long time high input: fertilizer, feed, fuel and iron (not always new ) when these costs out paced the price of beef finally woke up and asked why are we making everybody else better off? Switched to May , June calving, mob grazing, stock piled fescue a lot less hay , smaller cows, no grain our ground is mostly hills ,Rocks and trees (if we could grow crops might be a different story) this area of the state use to be the feeder pig capital of the world(60s and 70s) the cattle was going the same way as the hogs so we are making the switch to stay in the game.
