Nebraska Panhandle
We have been high cost for as long as I can remember. Lots of time, fuel and iron for many years. Made a huge swing to low cost this year. No hay fed to our cow herd yet. Only hay I plan to feed is to meet protein needs through the rest of the winter. Moved calving to May so we don't have to fight the weather calving in February and it better matches our cows nutritional needs with what is available to graze. Our cows are no longer pampered.
