Use to go to the Hollyhock Ballroom, Hatfield Mn on Saturday nights, and guess who was there a lot? Yep the Litter Brothers, they would fill the place. Kind of enjoyed watching the sisters more though.
Or we would go to the Showboat by Lake Benton, The Ritz in Lismore, Valhala up on Lake Shetek, (didn't go there much, to much fighting for my taste).
Johnny Holmes always drew a big crowd, and he's still playing yet, gotta be pushing 70 by now.

Thens there's the Disco era, glad that one died. whats amazing about the Litterer band is they were high school kids at the height of their careers. My wife went to school with them, and they would play for some of Charles city's school dances. Carlene played keyboards, I'm sure that's who you remember. |
