East Central Kansas | Would you accept this answer from your child? I hope not! Poor parenting! Not "everyone" did it! Try taking an EIT(engineer-in-training) exam, or any other professional exam and see what years of CHEATING gets you. See what happens if found out. At most major universities it means loss of credit(at the minimum) or expulsion. Remember the cheating scandal at the US AF Academy?
Side note: In a number of my classes, graded tests were handed out, discussed in class, collected, never to be seen again.
Remember: Honesty is like pregnancy: You are or You're not. One of the two, no in between! Cheating is dishonest.
That said, I had an Engineering Prof that maintained a file of his old tests in the library that he encouraged his students to study. The file contained every test he had given over his 20+year tenure. IF you could work EVERY problem on EVERY test, you were guaranteed an A, BUT, if you went through ALL of his old tests, you had a very thorough understanding of the class.
