Once you have all the facts, proceed. If it is as you suspect, don't make it a big deal. However, talk to him about how this is not how YOUR family deals with difficult assignments. Emphasize that the important thing is for him to do his own work, that you'd rather him get a B (or C) on his own work, than to get an A on something he copied (or purchased).
