NE Iowa | Not much success with a plane here. Not enough rain, or time after the rain to get it up.
Last year we did drill right after we combined soybeans. oats and wheat came up and was about 6 inches high before it died. In the spring, we no-tilled into it, and could hardly find it. not sure it did any good.
I think we are going to seed when the corn is knee tall in the end rows. Where semis drive. if they do grow, it will only help loosen the soil for the corn roots to get deeper.
