that's the problem I have getting any growth before frost.   the value as i perceive it would be in the soybeans.   be nice to have something that would cover up that practically bare soybean ground over the winter and early spring.  we have more than enough corn stalk residue, in fact I have heard of a couple more plows being bought locally.     we should be probably seeding cover crops in the beans now, but am worried about the cover crop being too tall and causing problems with the combine.    been using winter rye for the last two years, seeding it right after harvest, and can't get enough growth in the fall up here too matter.
