Subject: RE: Lowering Costs In A Down Market

Mid-Michigan
I'm not returning anything nor am I renegotiating any rent (I only rent a very little -1 small piece). A lot more thought went into my decision when I bought then to have to turn in a piece of equipment after a downturn in the market. I bought because I could not run what I had (junk). The downturn in the market was figured into my decision on equipment purchases as well as what I thought I could pay for ground (I came in second 3different times in the last 3 years). If a guy thought that corn was going to stay at $7 and beans @$15 when planning his purchases when he didn't have a lot of his own capital, then he was just plain dumb. I wanted to expand. I wanted more ground. I just could not play with the guys who outbid me (they weren't 2 cent millionaires -they had the capital behind them). And just to throw another wet blanket on things - wait til interest goes up about 5 points. We are pretty close to that also.
