Tablerock Ranch eastern Wa
Brian if you truly work full time off the farm, I think the reality for you is that raising your now lower valued grain crops is all the second job you need, coming home and standing over a dead $2000 bill laying in the cow **** isn't going to inspire you very long, not much talk about infrastructure so far but you have several choices invest 40 to 150 k in corral boards squeeze chutes, mixer wagon, skid steer, and on and on, or run some rawhide outfit with propped up panels feed out of a bucket chase the gain off all your calves every night you go out to feed when they are in your families corn field, and give shots on some sick calf while someone is pinching them between a gate and the wall of your corral, call you work on Monday morning and explain you are laid up from getting ran over while trying to operate in an unsafe environment, CAN A HARD WORKING PERSON LIKE YOU DO IT ? absolutely, but you better love livestock and you better plan on an expensive learning curve. TOUGH LOVE HERE BUDDY ! someone better start talking the realities and not just what you want to here, so you go in with your eyes wide open.-- best of success and I do mean that.
