E.Central MN | For one thing, when people burn an old house they usually burn everything including the shingles. Secondly, burning wood in a good tightly controlled furnace should do a better job of combustion than starting a brush fire and then throwing in a couple tires so it gets hot enough to burn. Finally, using the wood for heating offsets the use of other types of heating fuels compared to a big brush fire / shed fire that generates smoke and wasted heat. That's the way I look at it anyway. | |
