Old houses in the country here were often burnt by local fire departments to use for training. The county passed an ordinance a few years ago that I understand requires any type of composition roofing to be removed before a building is burned, including for fire training. Not sure what the rules are here now about burying an old building that was burnt.

It's probably not going to get any easier to get rid of all kinds of stuff than it is right now. Each year will only bring more regulations of all kinds.
