| Bad farmer, you said some things that rattle some cages, but are well said.
Our area here, east central LA, is not mega acres. Most are pretty respectful of arrangements, but things do happen.
The large absentee landlord is the ones that scare me. They don't see what I'm doing other than a check and a winter drive by.
They want the check, share or cash, doesn't matter, and are aging and need the money, don't want to sell, and will pass to less interested family. Typical.
They don't see the little things.
On the other hand, the local landlord that sees what we do, gets help when he needs it with whatever, ( cow out, fallen limb, spread load of dirt, etc) is far easier to negotiate with than the absentee. | |
