There is a lizard or perhaps it is a skink in Australia that is changing from egg laying to live birth.
So what do you think this skink or lizard is destined to become. Maybe it will turn into a fish. Or maybe it will become a human.
Look at the change in dairy cows in 100 years from the force of man, or the change to corn, wheat etc.
Has a cow become anything other than a cow. What did the corn or wheat change into? I haven't seen any corn that has become an elephant.
There is a moth (or maybe a butterfly) in Britain that changed from white for camouflage to dark colour when the industrial revolution left things covered in soot.
It is still a moth, or butterfly. Just adapted to the changing conditions.
Evolution is going on right in front of you every year, look at chemical resistant weeds, bacteria etc.
Still not changing to another species...
I think this might be the skink you are talking about

Just says that sometimes the mother keeps the eggs inside her body until they are almost ready to hatch. Sometimes they are laid a while before they hatch. Still eggs, not live birth.
