ND
I have a 643 converted into a 8r22", installed the two outside rows to Calmer stalk rolls, thought I had a new chopping corn head, left a 20 to 24" stalk with nothing but this post, shredded into 1.5 to 2" bits, after a rain stalk was tougher but worked the same when it dried out, will install the other 4 rows in 2014. Cost/row is around $1100/row, wouldn't hurt to install heavier cluster gear in gear box-can be pulled apart when your old rolls come off & cost/row about $350.00 /row in parts from JD. Did a great job. Ran head at 600 rpm. Corn comes into rolls about half way up into rolls, the JD's hardly at all
