The base line gets written up. They don't say 'you bought it here and its value has risen 3million, you should also pay capital gains on that 3million" it just says 'well this is its value. so if you sell it now the value you 'got'(inherited) it at is here and that is where capital gains goes off of for you if you now sell it.
Thoughts on all the talk/complaining about taxes/estate tax on here.
