From your statement above a question comes to light. If when a person dies with lots of appreciation on his land and then estate the estate taxes are paid then next gereration owns the land. What happens when the next generation dies after a period where the land value has dropped a lot. Does the government refund the estate taxes that were paid earlier?

If we must pay on the inflation should we not recieve something back on the deflation?
