They introduced wild turkeys in our area about 20 years ago from Missouri. It was a few years until we could hunt them and they were about as dumb as box or rocks when you just called with a hen yelp. Just about everybody bagged one. Things have really changed now the birds are much more paranoid and only gobble when on the roost. More people get skunked than there used to be, not because there isn't as many turkeys but it seems to take more effort now. I guess that is natural selection as the wiser birds also do the breeding.
