Hastings, Florida
We counted 35 turkeys in our 1/2 acre yard this spring, nearly every week we see about 10 or 15 around our house. Maybe 20 homes within 1/4 mile from my house, so rural, but not 'way out yonder', and only woods around. No planted fields. Until maybe 6 years ago, there were no turkeys to be seen around here at all. Game Warden told me they had noticed increase, but figured a disease would thin the herd shortly. That happened with skunks about 15 years ago. Used to over-run with the varmints, then they disappeared. We were told a disease got them. Just starting to return. Mother Nature takes care of herself.
